The senate doesn't announce new tribunes. That's for the tribunes to
do. Perhaps you should write to the custodes to ask the status of the
vote count in the plebeian election.

> The tribune race
> is uncontested you can announce it based on Germanicus's count.

I certainly can't, given that I'm a patrician.

If the diribitors can confirm that every one of the five tribunician
candidates received the vote of at least one tribe, and the plebeians
are willing to accept that as sufficient, then the candidates can be
sworn in. But that's ultimately up to the Concilium Plebis, and not to me.

Salve Corde.

Amice, I agree wholeheartedly regarding the resumption of the ancient
circumstances of the tribunician veto; but for now we are stuck with the
veto as imagined by the writers of those leges, and are bound to obey
them.

Greetings

I frankly do not see with what authority these results were made
public, and following which authority the results were "certified".

Personally, as a now former tribune, I do not consider those results
valid, as coming from elections severely marred by irregularity and by
a valid call for new elections simply ignored.

I don't think this policy of the fait accompli is of any good to this
organization, and altho I doubt this will ever be done, I'd invite the
elected magistrates not to accept the results of these elections.

That said, do as you please, as it's pretty evident someone, and that
were not the tirbunes in charge of the elctions, decided what course
of actions had to be followed, simply exhautorating teh Tribunes from
their role. Which, again, i doubt to be such a wise, noble and just
thing to do.

Re-salve

Not to mention, apparently it was elected someone who didn't regularly
submitted her candidature and therefore shouldn't had been on the ballots in
the first place.

Just to add one more to the irregularities.

M. Hortensia D. Fusco sd;
so where were you all day? Where were you to announce the
plebeian elections in the CPT and ensure it was done correctly? Where
were you, Albucius even Bianchius.

I cannot stay up until 3 am EST and then patrol the ML. I left it to
you & I left it to you to get 3 tribunes, as Saturninus agrees with me
to call new plebeian elections if you wished.

You abandoned your duty; it is your dignitas that is tarnished.

M. Hortensia;
I suggest you return the Tribune list ownership to Senatrix
Julilla Sempronia Magna and myself as the plebeian aediles for 2006.
It is no longer your affair.

Salve

You know, Maior, the only good thing coming out of this is tha I can
finally, and quite happily, killfile your email address.

But just for the fun of it:

I can't answer for the others, but I was here untill 6 pm rome time, then I
was out for new years's eve... if you do not have a life, it's not my fault.
If i look back at the last 12 months, I've been absent from my post for
exactly 3 weeks, besides th occasional day or two in calm periods. Quite
more present that you ever was, and that says nothing about the actual
taking care of the duties of the Tribunes, about which, in the unfortunate
events you actually put yourself at it, you failed regularly to accomplish.
I lost the count of your vetoes lacking the minimal requirements, jut to
mention one.

Incidentally, among the irregular elections, your election is the most
irregural of all, given you were not even reguralry candidated (and I do not
see why your name was on the ballot in the ifrst place). Funny you were the
first to express the oath.

And now, thank God, you will inagurate my killfile option, something that
over 6 years no one, for how obnoxious, vulgar, pompous, and aggressive had
ever managed to. Congratuations.

These results were made public by me while ccing the tribunes because
frankly, we didn't know who to give the results to and we were
already into the new year in Rome.

The Comitia Plebis Tributa was never called by a tribune, there was
no presiding magistrate for this election. There was a call for
candidates but the comitia was never called to hold an election. So
you are right, it may have been irregular but we decided to post the
results and let the plebeians decide.

Palladius
