My deep thanks to the organizers and the jury, especially to you, Gai Claudi, for this contest! I did not expect the Agrippa coin, not even in my dreams! In fact, I did not even try to win, I just sent in an old theory of mine to obtain any sort of coin you send to all participants! I thought it was absolutely worth the trouble to write something in exchange for a REAL ROMAN COIN. Who would miss such an opportunity?! :) But it seems the jury liked my theory about "Augustus and the Mystery of the Silver Sestertius".... and I am grateful for this appreciation.

Salvete omnibus in foro!

It is my pleasure to celebrate the birthday of Augustus by announcing the results of the Canada Citerior Augustus Memorial Essay Contest.

Six essays were submitted.  Of those, two in particular stood out and it was difficult for the judges to choose between them so it has been declared a tie.

The first of those two to be received was an interesting combination of whimsy and speculation entitled "Augustus and the Mystery of the Silver Sestertius."
The entries were submitted anonymously and it was only later that the author was revealed to be none other than Cn Cornelius Lentulus of Pannonia.  Accordingly, a coin issued by Caligula bearing the image of his grandfather, M Agrippa, is on its way to Budapest.

The second essay in the tie was submitted by a entrant who does not yet have a Roman name.  He is Giovanni Accioly Sellaro Jr., from Recife, Brasil.  His essay was entitled "The Coinage of Augustus on the Iberian Penisula."  His prize will be, fittingly enough, a copper coin bearing the image of Augustus, issued at Colonia Patricia in Spain.

The other entries in order of receipt were "The Coinage Reforms of the Divine Caesar Augustus" by L Vitellius Triarius, "Gold, gone Silver, gone" by Tiberius Marcius Quadra, an untitled essay by Marca Pedania Andrea, and an untitled essay by a still anonymous author.  Roman coins are being sent to all essayists, with the exception of Mr. or Ms. Anonymous, until such time as identity is established.

My thanks to all who have participated in this memorial event.

Salve, Quadra!

I'm happy your coin has arrived.  While I am not a coin dealer and do not sell coins, there are several issues with a portrait of Germanicus available.  I do not know of any that have his image on the obverse with Mars on the reverse.  Coins with his image cost at least a couple of hundred dollars if you want one that looks pleasant.  I suggest you go on eBay where several are currently listed.  Watch out, however, as some which look very good and which are very cheap are not genuine and are either reproductions or modern commemorative medallions.

I don't know yet whether or not I'll prepare a calendar for next year.  If I do I'll let you know.

Vale!

C. Aemilius Crassus Consul Novae Romae Quiritibus SPD,

The general elections will be hold in the next months and as important as the candidates and citizens' votes are the electoral officers Diribitores.

Both Quaestores have accepted to work as Diribitores in the upcoming elections but my experience as former Diribitor tells me to the elections process to go more smoothly and quicker the ideal are 4 Diribitores and not only 2.

In light of this I came to ask for volunteers to serve as Diribitores in the elections of this year. The minimum requirements are:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be an Assiduus/Assidua (Tax Payer).
Must be a citizen of Nova Roma for at least 6 months.
(I.6 Lex Cornelia de cursu honorum)

Also any citizen serving as Diribitor can't be candidate to an election.

If any citizen meets the above requirement please contact me privately or by replying to this email.

Subject: Candidates and offices in the upcoming elections
C. Aemilius Crassus Consul Novae Romae Quiritibus SPD,

This is not an official call for candidates just a reminder and a request to all citizens to consider to serve Nova Roma in one of the many offices available.

The Plebeian offices and elections are under the Tribuni Plebis responsibility and a call for candidates was already made. These offices, the Tribuni Plebis and Aediles Plebis are elected through the Comitia Plebis Tributa.

The other offices are elected by the Comitia Centuriata and Comitia Populis Tributa.

In the Comitia Centuriata the citizens vote in their centuria to which they are allocated on base of their Century Points gain by past service to the Res Publica as Magistrates, religious officers and apparitores. This Comitia elects the highest officers of Nova Roma, namely:

Censor - 1 position for two years working with the Censor elected last year. The minimum requirements are:
Must be at least 30 years old.
Must be an Assiduus/Assidua (tax payer).
Must have been a citizen of Nova Roma for at least 4 years.
Must have previously held the position of Praetor or Consul for at least 6 months OR held the position of Senator of Nova Roma for a year.

Consul - 2 positions for one year. The minimum requirements are:
Must be at least 30 years old
Must be an Assiduus/Assidua (tax payer).
Must have been a citizen of Nova Roma for at least 4 years.
Must have previously held the position of Praetor, or Tribune of the Plebs for at least 6 months ; or have served as a Provincial Governor for at least 3 years; or Senator for a year.

Praetor - 2 positions for one year. The minimum requirements are:
Must be at least 27 years old.
Must be an Assiduus/Assidua (Tax Payer).
Must have been a citizen of Nova Roma for at least 3 years.
Must have previously held one or more of the following positions for at least six months: Tribune of the Plebs, Plebeian Aedile, Curule Aedile, Quaestor, or Senator for 6 months.

In the Comitia Populis Tributa the citizens vote in their tribe allocated to them by Censores. This Comitia elects the following officers:

Curul Aedilis - 2 positions for one year. The minimum requirements are:
Must be at least 25 years old
Must be an Assiduus/Assidua (Tax payer).
Must have been a citizen of Nova Roma for at least 2 years.
Must have previously held the position of Plebeian Aedile, Provincial Governor, Quaestor or a Senator for at least 6 months.

Quaestor - 8 positions for one year. The minimum requirements are:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be an Assiduus/Assidua (Tax Payer).
Must have been a citizen of Nova Roma for at least a year.
Must have previously have held the position of an Apparitor for at least 6 months of service.

If any citizen have any question concerning this offices and or about the elections please don't hesitate in asking wither here or to me privately.

I once more ask all citizens to consider to serve Nova Roma as one of its magistrates.

Message traffic on the Roman Days list indicates that Roman Days will be held this coming Sunday at Riverdale Mansion in Maryland from 11 AM to 3 PM.  Apparently something happened with the earlier date in late September at George Mason University, and that possibility was cancelled. GMU is not the best adapted site, and seems to be rather inhospitable in any case.

Although the notice is quite short, perhaps some of you, at least those in the area, can make it there.  Let's hope that this time, the event will occur. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn a great deal about ancient Rome.

Valete optime.

I see that some of the requirements to hold office have changed during the last years. To me it to be slanted in favour of Patricians. For example, if someone was a Tribune of the Plebs even 10 times, they still couldn’t run for Censor or Curule Aedile. Yes, a plebeian Senator could run for those offices, but Tribunes aren’t automatically made Senators like the Praetores are.

I also find it a bit silly that a Quaestor needs to have been an Apparitor for at least 6 months. All offices are of course important, but Apparitor is an entry-level position. Previously some former Consuls, Praetores, etc., took on the job of Quaestor and basically helped out the newly elected Praetores & Consules, etc. With the Apparitor requirement, I believe it will prevent former holders of higher offices to run for Quaestor.
But that’s just my opinion.

Censor - 1 position for two years working with the Censor elected last year. The minimum requirements are:
Must have previously held the position of Praetor or Consul for at least 6 months OR held the position of Senator of Nova Roma for a year.

Curul Aedilis - 2 positions for one year. The minimum requirements are:
Must have previously held the position of Plebeian Aedile, Provincial Governor, Quaestor or a Senator for at least 6 months.

Quaestor - 8 positions for one year. The minimum requirements are:
Must have previously have held the position of an Apparitor for at least 6 months of service.

Gaius Decius Laterensis Quaestor Dianae Octaviae Aventinae omnibusque S.P.D.

The change to the office requirements, the Lex Cornelia de cursu honorum, was passed last year in the Comitia Centuriata and was passed 30 centuries to 4.  As I recall, nobody raised any major objections last year.  I don't see how it favors patricians.  Start as a apparitor, and learn how things work.  Then, run for Quaestor.  Once that's done, if you're Plebian, run for Tribune, then Plebian Aedile.  If Patrician, skip the Plebian offices and run for Curule Aedile.  So on, and so forth.  If you follow the Cursus, you'll earn your requirements whether you're a Patrician or Plebian.

I also don't have a problem with the Apparitor requirement for Quaestor.  It lets you learn how things work before you enter your first election.  My service last year as Diribitor was far more educational than it would've been had I jumped straight into running for office.  And, with the requirements so neatly laid out under the Lex Cornilia, I've got my entire Cursus Honorum planned all the way to the top.  Whether I get there or not is, of course, up to the voters, but ambition is good in any case.

SALVETE!

Based of the Collegium Pontificum decrees and schedule of activities, this month is dedicated to the reports of all citizens who hold a sacerdotal office. Reports are submitted to the Collegium Pontificum.

They must include relevant information about the activities held. This is not a bureaucracy but an intermediate step for the collegium report to the Senate. Therefore the reports should be short and concise.

Salve Gaius Decius Laterensis!

I've just noticed that you are the Sacerdos Martialis. I'm positive that we
will always get along just fine because I was NR's Sacerdos Veneris and
still honour her above all other deities.

< And, with the requirements so neatly laid out under the Lex Cornilia, I've

Excellent! Ambition is always good. Perhaps I am chatting with a future
Consul :-)

Personally, I have no interest to run for any office whatsoever since I've
already held several during the 15 years that I've been a citizen. I became
exhausted between my NR work and the positions that I held in the Pagan
Federation International, so I ended up resigning several NR offices before
my term was finished. Not good! I haven't been active in a very long time,
so I'll just be hanging around collecting dust, so to speak :-)

I sincerely wish you the best of luck in the upcoming election and in all of
your future endeavors!

Ave Diana

My staff and I wrote the law last year when I was sole consul.

One of my key goals when it was my turn to help rebuild nr after the civil war was clear transparency.

Many of the laws passed spelled out key requirements for implementation.   This would minimize corruption, which I'm sure you remember back in the day.

The other goal I had in mind was making sure people actually understood the organization before they run for office.  It might seem unfair, but I think it's a reasonable requirement and one that actually serves the organization well.  Keep in mind prior to the law we had newbies try to actually run for consul.

I basically did what my namesake did...spelled out minimum requirements for office...which the vast majority of nr thought was very reasonable and sensible.

Now I'll go back and work on recovering from my surgeries.

Respectfully,

Sulla

Today, I performed a caerimonia in honor of the October Horse.  Normally, this would've been done by the Flamen Martialis, but as that priesthood is currently vacant, it falls to me to complete his duties.  The caerimonia draws heavily on the Caerimonia Equirriae written by our former Flamen Martialis L. Equitius Cincinnatus Augur.  I would've preferred to wait until the results of today's chariot race is posted, but I've got to work this evening, so I thought it best to attend to my duties now rather than rushing through it later.

humble wine I ask forgiveness and expiate my fault
I poured a libation on the altar

Check out this connection regarding October Horse:
# West-Month = East-Year (repeats every 12 years)
7 Libra-Oct = Horse-1966
8 Scorpio-Nov = Sheep-1967
9 Sagittarius-Dec = Monkey-1968 (both are my sign, also DaVinci (year) et Caligula (year))
10 Capricorn-Jan = Rooster-1969
11 Aquarius-Feb = Dog-1970
12 Pisces-Mar = Pig-1971 "Pigs are big;" whales descended from pigs; Pisces/Pig are the naturally smartest sign.
1 Aries-Apr = Rat-1972 The dumbest sign but usually the most popular.
2 Taurus-May = Ox-1973
3 Gemini-Jun = Tiger-1974
4 Cancer-Jul = Rabbit-1975
5 Leo-Aug = Dragon-1976
6 Virgo-Ger = Snake-1977 The snake (a man born year of the snake) spoke of in Genesis 3:1.

Embrace your animal instinct.

This came to me as I studies both Western & Eastern astrology and I noticed the pivot Taurus/Ox.

C. Decius Laterensis Sacerdos Martialis omnibus S.P.D.

Di vos incolumes custodiant!

Biga Race Report

Welcome to Nova Roma News Radio, broadcasting to you from the eternal city.

Today is the October Horse and we have a special event taking place at the Circus Maximus. Our reporter, Titus Nautius Sura, has a report on the biga race!

Salvete omnes! It is 7:00 pm with clear skies and a warm breeze. There was plenty of action at the Circus Maximus all day but now the final race to determine today's winner is about to begin. The six finalists are: Enitan, driving the chariot "Storm of Sand", owned by Sexta Laelia Macra for Factio Praesina; Amadan, driving the chariot "Aurum", owned by Publius Annaeus Constantinus Placidus for Factio Russata; Publius Annaeus Constantinus Placidus, driving his own chariot "Firefly", for Factio Russata; Damocles, driving the chariot "Helios", owned by Sexta Laelia Macra for Factio Praesina; Maleos of Alexandria, driving the chariot “White Lightning”, owned by Gaius Decius Laterensis for Factio Albata; and, Florius, driving the chariot "Ballista", owned by Marcus Cornelius Rutilus for Factio Russata.

The chariots have lined up and stand ready. The gates snap open and the chariot charge out. It’s a good clean start. The chariots are closing in on the first turn. White Lightning is beginning to pull away with Ballista well ahead of the rest of the pack. Coming through the first turn Firefly is in third place, Storm of Sand in fourth, Aurum is in fifth and Helios is in sixth.

The horses are moving almost effortlessly on the track as they pass through the third lap with White Lightning still in the lead. Firefly has moved up second pulling a bit ahead of Helios. Ballista seems to have faded to the back of pack with Aurum and Storm of Sand.

As they complete the fifth lap Ballista has surged ahead to take the lead. Helios has second place. The crowd is cheering as White Lightning roars by in third position with Aurum close behind. Storm of Sand and Firefly are pulling up the rear.

Dust clouds are filling the air. The chariots are completing the sixth lap now. Only one more to go! And White Lightning has a commanding lead. Helios is well behind in second position. Aurum is in third and Firefly appears to be making a move, now in fourth position ahead of Storm of Sand and Ballista. As they round the final turn White Lightning has just pushed Helios into the spina!

And here they come for the final stretch! Helios crosses first! White Lightning follows almost immediately in second place. Aurum is in third place, leaving Firefly a bit behind in fourth place. Ballista takes fifth place. And Storm of Sand is in sixth place. The Praesina fans are going wild! It's been a while since the Greens have had such a moment to celebrate and I'm sure the party will last well into the night.

That's it from the Circus Maximus. Sexta Laelia Macra has scored a win and the Greens have taken the trophy today. Congratulations to Lady Macra on her victory! Now back to the studio.

Valete omnes!

Awesome book! quite a post graduate work.
I read parts of it at Amazon "Look Inside."
Some of the rituals are in both Latin and in English.
Some of the rituals are in English only (starting at Page 23).
Do you think your 3rd edition will include all rituals in both Latin and English? All rituals in both Latin and English would be my request.
Also, under the "Declaration" starting at Page 1, it seems your "hold" "affirm" "also affirm" and "further affirm" makes the Declaration seem ad hoc, as opposed to "these things we hold" and "these things we affirm."
However, if the way you wrote it is your authoritative style and or intent, my critique above,  if I have written anything to violate your writes may you kindly receive my words in expiation of my mortal error; (extrapolation from p.30).

Salve Quadra!

Yes, a 3rd edition would ideally include all rituals in both Latin and English.  This version does not have both for two basic reasons:  Most cultors, interested, and prospective parties do not read Latin and/or are not fluent in Latin, but do read English (even as a second language), and therefore, it provides a "readable" copy for most people.  Second, my Latin knowledge is not at the level to freely write and converse to meet those needs and probably never will be.

The Declaratio is worded in its original format as written in 1998 by the NR founders. I decided to leave it that way for historical purposes, due to the nature of the book. I would agree that the original format could be softened.  Everytime I read it, it reminds me of Lentulus' YouTube video, where he reads it in Latin in a dramatic form as if projected in a public oration from the Rostra...which is exactly how it was written and designed to be delivered.

Anyway, the book was designed to be a reference book for non-cultores and a personal guidebook for cultores. I hope you enjoy reading it, should you desire to obtain a copy.  Maybe, someone amongst our ranks, who does have a good command of the Latin language, will write a guide book of rituals, prayers and sacrifices in both languages to meet this need.

Vale,

That is kind of what we have now.  Maybe a better option would be a separate service like:

It comes in 10 language options, costs 49.99 Euros (one-time fee, no monthly costs), and has no branding except for what you choose. You can also do live on-the-air broadcasts, as well as video on demand.

Just a suggestion.

Vale,

Gratia tibi ago,

I have submitted the project to Kindle for review, but doubt seriously that they will approve it, due to the amount of public-domain content.  They refused the first edition.  Kindle maintains a monopoly on projects that they determine are more public-domain content oriented, and they solely control books on Kindle that are in the public domain.

Agenda:

Item I - Senatus Consultum de funere censorio Ti. Galerius Paulinus

I. It was with great sadness that the senate of Nova Roma learned of the death of censorial and consular senator Ti. Galerius Paulinus, tribunus plebis and proconsul Columbiae. The Republic is in grief, and the senate is mourning the loss of their fellow senator, a friend to many, the illustrious Ti. Galerius Paulinus. Our Paulinus was one of the greatest Nova Romans in our res publica, a true Roman and a wonderful man beloved by the citizenry. All members of the senate extend their sincere and deeply felt condolences to the family and friends of senator Ti. Galerius Paulinus, and to the entire citizenry of Nova Roma, for the loss of our excellent fellow citizen.

II. In order to honor the memory of the late illustrious Ti. Galerius Paulinus, to express gratitude for his many great contributions to Nova Roma, for his never ceasing dedication to our commonwealth, and to pay homage to the greatness of his character and importance for Nova Roman history, the senate is hereby awarding and declaring a funus censorium state funeral for vir censorius Ti. Galerius Paulinus, tribunus plebis and proconsul of Columbia, the Senate has authorized a donation of 500 dollars to the family of Ti. Galerius Paulinus toward the costs of the funeral in the name of the Nova Roman People, the Quirites. Recognizing that the actual funeral arranged by the family has been already held pr. Non. Sep. (on 4th September), this funus censorium serves as our separate funerary tribute but also supports the actual funeral financially.

III. The funus censorium of Ti. Galerius Paulinus shall take place in a form of a funerary ritual and sacrifice conducted by one or both of the consuls, based on their agreement. The volunteering consul has the usual authorization to request one of the pontifices to perform the ritual in his or her place.

IV. The funus censorium ritual shall take place on the date appointed by the volunteering consul, and published in a consular edict on the funus censorium of Ti. Paulinus. Before issuing the edict, the consul shall obtain an approval for the chosen day from at least three pontifices because of the calendrical complications of Roman religion. If the consul chooses to perform the ritual through the person of a pontifex, he or she has to arrange the date with the officiating pontifex before publishing the edict.

V. The senate, to further honor the memory of Ti. Galerius Paulinus, hereby officially declares a state mourning for the funeral of Ti. Galerius Paulinus, which shall take place beginning from the day which precedes the funus censorium ritual, and shall last three days.

VI.These three days are declared Dies Nefasti Publici (NP), and, according to the Decretum Pontificum de Diebus III.A., no official state business, no judicial procedure, no comitia shall be held, no edicts shall be issued on these days.

VII. During this state mourning period, the main page of the Nova Roma website shall show nothing else but a tribute to Ti. Galerius Paulinus, his mourning portrait, black flags and similar symbols of grief, and other main portal pages of the website shall contain a black flag and reference to the mourning of Ti. Galerius Paulinus.

VIII. On each day of the state mourning period, the consuls shall take care that there be a daily public message on the official fora of Nova Roma calling the citizens' attention to the mourning and asking for prayers for Ti. Galerius Paulinus.

IX. The senate also instructs all aediles (curule and plebeian) collegially as a body to hold public funerary games in honor and in memory of Ti. Galerius Paulinus no later than within one month after the funus censorium. The memorial funerary games shall be called Ludi Galerii (Galerian Games) and shall include virtual munera gladiatoria and a biography contest about the life and Roman activities of Ti. Paulinus. The rest of the programs, including the length of the games, is at the discretion of the curule and plebeian aediles, but they shall not exceed 5 days.

X. The senate determines that the next coin officially issued by Nova Roma shall remember Ti. Galerius Paulinus.

Agenda item 1 was passed.  I have recorded fourteen votes in favor, none opposed, no abstentions - as follows (in order of votes cast):

Subject: Project Proposal: Founding a Nova Roma peer reviewed academic journa
Salvete omnes!

I've been silent on the forum for quite some time. However, I've been following things at a distance. Please give me a moment to reintroduce myself.

I've been around Nova Roma for over ten years. I've largely grown up as a citizen having spent most of my adult life in Nova Roma. When I first became a citizen I had an interest in Rome. However, by holding citizenship in our res publica I have found a true love for Rome. It has inspired over a decade of learning and related formal academic activity. Nova Roma inspired a love and passion for all things Roman. I hope it will always continue to do so. I largely thank Nova Roma for igniting this passion. I hope many of you reading this share similar sentiments.

From early on I have realized that one of the greatest resources we have as Nova Romans are our fellow citizens. I've always been amazed by the vast array of knowledge held by many of our citizens. Just look at our wiki and list archives! What a treasure trove of information! I think this and our many other works stand as testament to the incredible knowledge many of our citizens possess.

I'm wondering if we could do more to tap this knowledge. To preserve current knowledge. To inspire the acquisition of further research and the further dissemination of all Roman history and culture. I hope we could further inspire others, both citizen and non-citizen alike to learn more about Rome.  If we can do this we are only furthering the mission set by the founders of Nova Roma.

To achieve this I'm curious if any other citizens would be interested in founding a Nova Roma peer reviewed academic journal.

Pretty much all academic journals are fully digital these days. Yes, many are subscription based. But more recently (the last 10 yrs) they are free, digital and open source. I proposed our academic journal be free and digital. However, it should still be professionally published online. I have many of the resources needed to publish online in this manner. I'm more than happy to volunteer towards this ends.

This journal would be open for anyone to submit well researched, well sourced review articles or original research relating to ancient Roman history, religion or culture. Most importantly articles will need to be vetted for academic rigour and receive approval by a peer review panel which is experienced in various Roman topics eg. religion, military, law, medicine, engineering etc. I think we many have more than a few citizens who have such expertise. This peer review process would be key to establishing the academic credibility of the journal. I would also suggest opening submissions to non-citizens. This way our journal could serve as an outreach tool and also a means for dialogue with non-Nova Romans.

Ultimately, I would hope this project would further inspire Nova Romans to rediscover the culture and to find a formal outlet to gain experience in contributing in an academic manner. It would also hopefully serve to further the academic activity already going on in the res publica. Personally, I believe that the promotion of high quality academic works is essential in teasing out our ancient Roman culture, religion and our history. Maybe this project could play a role in this?

With all this said, there is no way I can succeed in launching such an ambitious project alone. In fact, I think that in order for such a project to succeed it must involve several citizens and be a community directed project. I write this message to see if others may share my desire and would be welling to dedicate some time to discussing this proposal further.

I eagerly await your thoughts and opinions!

Valete!

Cn. Cornelius Lentulus P. Claudio Caeco s. p. d.

Welcome back to our forum, optime P. Caece, sodalis Palatine! It's good to see that you are coming back full of enthusiasm and initiatives!

As for myself, I will support your project as much as my other commitments will permit. You can count on my help and assistance. I think we should also focus on expanding and enhancing our greatest resource, the Nova Roma wiki website. There are plenty of articles which need yet to be written or need to be polished and improved. Maybe this is something we could do in parallel while creating the online journal -- or before it. What do you think?

Salve, amice.
Ego conveniunt amici mei, et servi tui.

I have to say, this is an excellent idea! One of the best suggestions I've heard in a very long time, in fact. I believe I've heard such an idea suggested on the Religio Romana mailing list, ages ago... But there was little subsequent discussion, and nothing came to fruition, obviously.

I echo the sentiments of Lentulus, and would be honoured in assisting you with this project.
I honestly think this should be a project of some priority for our organization; it would establish our credentials in the academic world, and draw considerable interest. Nova Roma has a bit of an image problem among classicists and other scholars due to its early history. Some still view it as a micro-nation, and most seem to thing we're doing little more than "role-playing" at being Romans. To be fair, we have had some success reversing these misconceptions amongst the general populace, but this project, I believe, would do more to raise our public profile than just about anything else we could do, short of building a temple for the practice of the sacra publica.

Incidentally, I'm also a budding scholar. My field of study are anthropology (primarily cultural), and archaeology (with an emphasis on classical archaeology). While I'm primarily an anthropologist, I am a trained archaeologist as well; I hope to participate in some of the ongoing archaeological field projects in which my university is active: Pompeii, Herculaneum, or Troy. While I will no doubt be quite busy with my graduate studies, I would love to publish some of my subsequent work in the journal. Feel free to get in touch with me so we can discuss the project further. It would be much easier to contact me through my university e-mail, which is cochradi [at] mail [dot] uc [dot] edu.
